Lead - Generative Engine Optimization / AI Search Optimization

$75–$88/hr (W2)
We’re seeking a GEO Lead to help shape and execute a strategy for Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) — the next evolution of SEO focused on visibility across AI search, LLM-driven experiences, and answer engines.
This role is ideal for someone who sits at the intersection of SEO, AI search behavior, structured data, and content/technical strategy, and wants to lead initiatives in an emerging, high-impact space.
What You’ll Do
- Build and lead the GEO/AI Search Optimization strategy across a large digital ecosystem
- Translate AI search trends and LLM behaviors into actionable insights
- Develop new KPIs and measurement frameworks for AI-driven visibility
- Optimize content structure, schema, and entity data for machine comprehension
- Partner with SEO, content, product, analytics, and engineering teams
- Run experiments to understand how content and technical changes influence AI/LLM results
- Create dashboards and reports tracking AI citations and generative search visibility
- Support product and engineering teams to ensure platforms are AI-crawlable and entity-aware
- Educate teams and develop GEO best practices, documentation, and playbooks
What You Bring
- 5–8 years in SEO, digital strategy, or technical search
- Strong understanding of LLMs, AI search, and how generative systems retrieve and surface information
- Experience with structured data, schema markup, and entity optimization
- Ability to define and measure performance in emerging search channels
- Experience collaborating across marketing, analytics, product, and engineering
- Excellent communication skills and ability to simplify complex concepts
Bonus Skills
- Experience with APIs, structured data feeds, or headless CMS platforms
- Familiarity with analytics tools (Adobe, Tableau, GSC, BigQuery, Looker)
- Background in experimentation or product/AI-driven content systems
