What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Safety Coordinator position at Clear Companies?
Overview
Responsible for project-wide safety and health administration. Being able to deal with a variety of people from laborers to project Owners. Being able to maintain your credibility this group and it will be put on the line each day. Know OSHA Standars, computer literate, be bi-lingual or have means to translate to either English/Spanish, good communicator at all levels.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Works with Construction Directors to establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and HSE standards within boundaries of company policy.
- Administers both Clear’s and Owner safety program requirements.
- Develops specific onsite programs, as required.
- Performs site audits for unsafe practices, conditions-make recommendations and/or know specific regulation on proper corrections.
- Represents Company in project meetings and client interface.
- Leads/performs accident investigations.
- Trains personnel (e.g. Clear toolbox-sub in general meetings).
- Reports WC claims and performs onsite WC administration for both VCC and sub injuries.
- Proactively participates in safety programs.
- Performs recordkeeping/document control for HAZCOM, training etc. This includes various reports to Owner.
- Assists in develop/maintain Hazard Analysis Documentation.
- Assists in the training/orientation of employees when needed.
- Administers First Aid, CPR, AED where necessary.
- Stays current on safety regulations.
- Attends and participates in miscellaneous site meetings, sharing knowledge, information, and ideas when needed. Performs other duties and services to ensure a successful project is delivered and client is satisfied.
- Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality.
- This position may supervise the work of others (e.g. Project Safety Assistant).

Working Conditions

- May work protracted or irregular hours
- Flexibility to work irregular hours due to client needs (i.e. other than 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and/or other than Monday through Friday).
- Work related responsibilities may require travel out of town project locations.
Education
- Minimum 5 yrs in construction with safety responsibilities, commercial, parking structures, and industrial type projects.
- Experience with self-performing work in excavation, concrete.
- Mix of public and private project experience.
- First Aid/CPR/AED trained and/or instructor. Experience in accident investigations to determine the Root Cause, must be computer literate, fully aware of applicable safety standards
