About the Role:
As a Journeyman Electrician, you will play a crucial role in the industrial construction industry by ensuring that electrical systems are installed, maintained, and repaired to the highest standards of safety and efficiency. You will be responsible for interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams, allowing you to execute electrical installations that meet both regulatory codes and client specifications. Collaboration with other tradespeople and project managers will be essential to ensure that timelines are met and that all work is completed to satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
- 4 years of experience as an electrician
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety practices.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in industrial settings.
- Install wiring, conduit, and electrical components such as switches, outlets, circuit breakers, etc.
- Conduct routine inspections and troubleshooting of electrical systems to identify and resolve issues.
- Install intricate instrumentation and test communication between equipment.
- Test electrical systems and equipment to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and make necessary repairs or replacements.
- Site excavation, set rebar, and pour concrete for underground electrical installation.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project timelines and safety standards are met.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and less experienced electricians on the job site.
Skills:
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Properly size conduit, cable, conductors and install and terminate them.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to determine the layout of electrical systems.
