Job Summary:
The Accountant, State and Local Income Tax assists in the preparation of state/local income tax returns and quarterly provision.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepares tax returns and related reports to ensure compliance with all state and local regulations, statutes and ordinances.
- Assists in preparation of quarterly tax provision and related tax accounting requirements.
- Monitors state and local tax policies for law changes and assist with determining impact to provision and compliance calculations.
- Analyzes and reconciles fixed assets
- Other projects and duties as assigned including other tax disciplines, i.e., Federal and international compliance.
Job Qualifications:
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent combination of education,training, experience, or military experience.
- CPA preferred.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 3 years relevant and progressive professional experience in a large public accounting firm or corporation.
Skills
- Knowledge of state and local income tax laws and reporting requirements.
- Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and OneSource tax software.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
