Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of various facilities including floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuums.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures to ensure effective sanitation without risk.
- Conduct manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation by disinfecting surfaces, trash removal, and ensuring all areas are hygienic and presentable.
- Operate cleaning machinery and equipment efficiently while adhering to safety protocol guidelines to prevent accidents or damage.
- Support facilities maintenance activities such as minor repairs or painting tasks to uphold the overall appearance and functionality of the environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to requests or concerns from staff or visitors, fostering a positive atmosphere.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience is preferred, demonstrating familiarity with commercial cleaning practices and equipment.
- Experience handling chemical agents safely in a cleaning or maintenance setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, polishing, and floor buffers is advantageous.
- Background in facilities maintenance or general custodial work helps ensure efficient task completion.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and follow safety protocols diligently is essential for this role.
- Previous porter experience or residential painting skills can be beneficial but are not required; training will be provided if needed.
