Custodian / Industrial Cleaner – Energy Plant (Coal Mine)

Location: Marissa, IL

Pay: $15–$18 per hour (depending on experience)

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Available Shifts:• 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM• 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM• 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Some weekends may be required depending on project needs. Candidates must be flexible with their work schedule as shifts or days may occasionally change based on operational needs.

Job Summary

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment for staff and visitors at an energy plant coal mine facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, locker rooms, and shower facilities• Clean and maintain industrial locker rooms used by plant and mine workers• Sweep, mop, wash, buff, and vacuum floors• Empty trash and remove recycling materials• Maintain outdoor walkways by sweeping debris and washing walkways• Perform basic landscaping duties including watering, cutting, and trimming shrubs and grass• Clean and polish fixtures• Track and order maintenance supplies• Clean windows• Dust and vacuum furniture

Work Environment

This position operates in an industrial energy plant coal mine environment. Employees may be exposed to coal dust, fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and outdoor weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active position that requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the shift. Employees must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds.

Additional Requirements

• Candidates are subject to a background check and drug screening• Must be comfortable cleaning locker rooms and shower areas used by plant and mine workers• Must be flexible with scheduling, including possible weekend work when projects arise
