Custodial Supervisor
MUST HAVE AT LEAST 1 YEAR OF SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE
The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall appearance of all assigned areas while leading and supporting a team of custodial staff. This position ensures that cleaning standards are consistently met, work assignments are completed efficiently, and employees are properly trained and supervised.
Essential Functions
- Supervise, train, and motivate custodial staff to ensure quality performance and adherence to company standards.
- Assign daily work schedules and monitor completion of assigned tasks.
- Conduct inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are maintained throughout the facility.
- Assist with cleaning duties as needed, including:
- Sweeping, dusting, dust mopping, damp mopping, and vacuuming
- Carpet extraction
- Floor stripping and waxing
- Trash and recycling removal
- Restroom and locker room cleaning and sanitizing
- Window cleaning
- Cleaning desks, walls, furniture, doors, glass, countertops, whiteboards, blinds, and light fixtures
- Snow and ice removal when required
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Report facility maintenance concerns and safety hazards.
- Maintain attendance records, performance documentation, and communicate staffing needs to management.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience required.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent work history and reliability.
- Ability to lead by example and work effectively with a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Experience in custodial, janitorial, or facility maintenance operations preferred.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Background check required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Experience: Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred. Supervisory experience of at least one year is required.
