Area Manager – Commercial Cleaning Operations (Evenings)
Location: Metro Detroit, MI

Position Overview
Clean Team is seeking a results‑driven, hands‑on Area Manager to oversee evening commercial cleaning operations across multiple client locations in Metro Detroit. This leadership role is responsible for managing frontline teams, driving operational excellence, and ensuring consistent, high‑quality service delivery.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Area Manager serves as the primary link between company leadership and field staff. This position is ideal for a proactive leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, knows how to manage people and schedules effectively, and takes pride in building strong, reliable teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands‑on leadership and daily oversight of cleaning staff across multiple commercial facilities
- Ensure smooth nightly operations and consistent service quality at all assigned locations
- Train, coach, mentor, and develop employees to maintain performance, accountability, and engagement
- Set clear expectations and provide ongoing performance feedback to team members
- Manage staffing needs including scheduling, attendance, shift coverage, and reducing turnover
- Monitor and control labor costs by balancing budgeted hours versus actual hours worked
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure quality standards and client satisfaction are met
- Enforce company policies, procedures, safety protocols, and productivity standards
- Analyze operational and service data to identify trends and implement improvements
- Foster a positive, people‑first culture that promotes morale, retention, and accountability
- Address employee relations matters, including investigations, counseling, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions, with professionalism and discretion
- Communicate regularly with upper management regarding staffing needs, operational challenges, and growth opportunities
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
- Current auto insurance
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Prior management or supervisory experience
- Proven ability to coach, train, and motivate teams
- Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills
- Ability to manage multiple sites and priorities simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial services, facilities management, or service‑based operations
- At least one year of experience leading teams in a multi‑site or field‑based environment
