Duobert Trucking Inc. is a growing Street Sweeping and heavy equipment company seeking an experienced Staff Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper to take responsibility for the company's day-to-day accounting and financial recordkeeping.
Our company operates approximately 30 pieces of equipment and has approximately 30 employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, monitoring expenses, and preparing regular financial reports for company management.
This is an important position within our company. We are looking for someone who is organized, trustworthy, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the company's day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process and track vendor invoices and payments
- Prepare and issue customer invoices
- Monitor outstanding customer balances and accounts receivable aging
- Reconcile customer and vendor accounts
- Record and properly categorize company expenses
- Track fuel, repairs, maintenance, insurance, transportation, and operating expenses
- Maintain records for approximately 45 pieces of equipment
- Maintain fixed asset and equipment records
- Track equipment purchases, loans, financing, and payments
- Assist with depreciation records and provide information to the company's CPA
- Reconcile payroll and employee-related expenses
- Maintain W-9 and 1099 records for subcontractors and vendors
- Assist with year-end preparation and tax documentation
- Prepare monthly Profit & Loss statements
- Prepare monthly Balance Sheets
- Prepare accounts receivable and accounts payable reports
- Assist management with cash-flow reporting and financial analysis
- Identify discrepancies, unusual transactions, and accounting errors
- Maintain organized financial documentation
- Work directly with company ownership and outside CPA
- Maintain confidentiality of company financial information
- Help establish and maintain strong accounting procedures and internal controls
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3–5 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Strong QuickBooks experience required
- Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Experience with bank and credit card reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience with payroll and 1099 reporting
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to identify and correct accounting discrepancies
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be trustworthy and able to maintain strict confidentiality
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in trucking, transportation, construction, heavy equipment, or a similar industry
- Experience managing accounting for multiple vehicles or heavy equipment
- Experience with equipment financing and loans
- Experience working with an outside CPA
- Experience with job costing and project-based businesses
- Accounting degree or relevant professional experience
COMPENSATION
$35–$45 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
