What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Representative – Sober Living position at Clean Slate Sober?
Business Development Representative – Sober Living
Clean Slate Sober operates Slate House, a men’s sober living home in Lakewood, and Slate Haven, a women’s sober living home in Littleton. We provide abstinence-based housing, accountability, and recovery community.
We are looking for someone who knows the Denver-area recovery and treatment community and can turn professional relationships into appropriate resident referrals. You will work directly with the owner to build referral partnerships, explore participant payment resources, and establish a dependable outreach and follow-up process.
This is an ongoing, part-time position with a flexible hybrid schedule, combining local partner visits with administrative work from home.
What you will do
- Develop and maintain referral relationships with treatment centers, discharge planners, recovery organizations, reentry programs, and other relevant partners.
- Introduce our homes to prospective partners, arrange tours and meetings, communicate availability, and follow up consistently.
- Prioritize appropriate referrals with an identified way to pay while helping develop assistance options for other prospective residents.
- Research participant scholarships, housing assistance, and funded partnerships. Identify eligibility requirements, application steps, and contacts.
- Build and maintain a simple system for tracking referral sources, conversations, next steps, and results.
- Work with the owner to set weekly priorities and evaluate which relationships and activities produce suitable inquiries and move-ins.
The owner handles prospective resident inquiries, screening, admissions, and move-ins. Your primary responsibility is developing the relationships and opportunities that generate those inquiries.
What we are looking for
- Existing professional relationships in the Denver-area treatment, recovery, housing, or reentry community.
- Demonstrated success developing referral partnerships or generating relevant business growth, with specific examples of your contribution and results.
- Clear communication, dependable follow-through, and the ability to work independently within agreed priorities and hours.
- Comfort making introductions, visiting organizations, explaining our homes, and maintaining organized records.
- Sound judgment about appropriate referrals, confidentiality, and respectful communication with people in recovery.
Additional experience we value
Experience with recovery housing, participant funding resources, housing navigation, program development, or CRM and workflow setup is helpful. Grant writing, payer contracting, and Medicaid billing are additional strengths, but are not required for this position.
Why join us
This is an opportunity to help shape a small, growing recovery-housing business and work directly with its owner. We welcome experienced applicants seeking meaningful part-time work, including those maintaining another position, provided schedules and professional obligations are compatible.
