Cleaning Technicians work on contracts completing specialty work at various jobs sites across WNY. Job duties include carpet cleaning, stripping and waxing floors, post construction cleanup, fire and water restoration, smoke odor/buildup removal, apartment turns, commercial cleaning and more. They work in small teams for companies, government offices, and residential customers while representing Clean MD in a positive manner. They’ll use their specialized knowledge to determine which cleaning materials and techniques should be used in order to complete the job efficiently.

Floorwork Technician Responsibilities

As a Project Work Technician, you will be responsible for the following:

Complete project work including but not limited to:

• Carpet cleaning
• Stripping and waxing floors
• Post construction cleanup
• Fire and water damage restoration
• Smoke odor/buildup removal
• Apartment cleanouts
• Commercial cleaning

Floorwork Technician Additional Responsibilities Include

• Operate equipment according to company and manufacturer safety standards.
• View work orders and schedules for each assigned job.
• Determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
• Pack and unpack company vehicles.
• Maintain equipment and vehicles and store in designated location after each use.
• Prepare cleaning solutions according to label specifications.
• Complete post construction cleaning including but not limited to:
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Gather and empty trash, recyclables, and shredders then change liners.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, desks, counters, and equipment.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
• Motivate, develop, and direct people as they work.
• Use training, instructional methods, and procedures appropriate for the situation when training employees.
• Identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Recommend ways to improve company procedures and actively look for ways to help team members.
• Communicate issues to the appropriate staff in a timely manner.
• Utilize technology to communicate, complete, and track work.
• Represent the company in a positive manner.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Floorwork Technician Qualifications

• Valid NYS driver’s license
• Reliable means of transportation
• Floor care experience preferred
• Ability to lift and manipulate cleaning equipment up to 70 pounds
• Comfortable working on ladders and lifts
• Must be willing to work day shift & occasionally night shift
• Organizational skills and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting, contributing to the overall team effort
• Recognition of importance of confidentiality regarding company and client information
• Must be willing to learn
