Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall daily production and manufacturing activities, scheduling, processes and supervision of production personnel.
- Ensures proper collection and reporting of data necessary to track performance of the manufacturing operation against the plan (i.e. labor efficiency, scrap reduction, deviations), identify root causes of issues and support problem solving efforts.
- Administers effective performance evaluations, development plans and disciplinary actions and mentors employees through formal channels, identifying development needs and counseling on overcoming them.
- Ensures effective communication of plant priorities, initiatives and performance requirements to all plant employees.
- Represents plant/Company to key customers during on-site visits and audits.
- Ensures adherence to defined SOP’s and safety standards.
- Assist with identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.
- Ensures a safe work environment for all employees through company directed safety programs, compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements and promotion of a strong preventative safety culture.
- Assume Production Manager’s role as needed.
- Assists in training, development and support of employees in order to ensure employees can excel at their role.
Qualifications
- BS in chemistry or related field desired.
- 5 years experience in chemical batching/liquid filling.
- 3 years experience of managing 10 employees.
- Proven experience in production management within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proven track record demonstrating ability to lead people and get results.
- Experience in meeting production schedules, controlling and improving line efficiency.
- Familiarity with manufacturing methodologies and process improvement techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing equipment and plant operations.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical skills for supply chain analytics and operations management.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to speak Spanish desired.
