Position Title: Shipping & Receiving Technician Job Summary: The Shipping and Receiving Technician, under the direct supervision of the Manager, and the Director, Business and Auxiliary Services, assists with the general mail room operation and performs the shipping and receiving duties. Job Description: • Picks up the mail daily from the post office. • Picks up and processes outgoing mail and delivers to post office. • In the absence of the Campus Services Manager, the Shipping and Receiving Technician assigns daily Shipping and Receiving duties to Campus Services staff. • Sorts incoming and interoffice mail, and delivers mail, publications, supplies, etc. to College offices, divisions, and faculty. • Sorts and delivers mail to other campuses. • Receives delivery of goods and forwards goods to the requisitioning department; processes freight shipments and returns of goods. • Performs physical inventory annually of at least one quarter of capital equipment located on and off campus. • Fills and delivers Central Supply orders. • Stores items in a safe and efficient manner. • Develops effective methods of outgoing mail distribution. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications • High school diploma, or equivalent. • Ability to lift at least 70 pounds. • Valid driver's license. • Ability to deal with the public in a professional manner.
