What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Medical Office Receptionist position at Claytor Memorial Clinic?
A position is available for a Psychiatric Medical Receptionist at Claytor Memorial Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia. Salary is posted but commensurate with experience.
Hours are: Monday-Thursday: 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Two weeks of paid time off (PTO) is provided the first year of employment and is available after 90 days of continuous employment. Increases available after one year of employment.
We will provide paid holidays, after 90 days of continuous employment, for the following days:
New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
JOB DUTIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Welcome, screen and schedule new and return patient appointments for psychiatric services using CMC referral forms, check diagnosis and verify insurance.
- Enter new patients into database with correct insurance and demographics. Add new insurance funders into EMR as appropriate.
- CHECK PATIENTS IN/OUT IN THE EMR TO INFORM PROVIDER OF PATIENT ARRIVAL AND FOR BILLING. VERIFY DEMOGRAPHICS AND INSURANCE AT EACH APPOINTMENT, scan insurance cards when new insurance is presented. Must verify insurance before patient is seen to ensure we participate and what financial responsibility is.
- Ensure all request for records are HIPPA compliant.
- Document and provide information regarding telephone inquiries, appointments, program information, messages, telephone liaison between providers and patients.
- Collect copays and balances on patient accounts.
- Update agency voicemail as necessary.
- Contact computer vendor for computer needs if they cannot be resolved in-house.
- Be knowledgeable of server, Internet/wireless system and passwords.
- Scan and upload forms, records and miscellaneous information as well as mail discharge letters and document/upload in the EMR.
- Give driving directions to all locations.
- Assist patients in finding a higher level of care when necessary to include intensive in-home counseling, therapeutic day treatment counseling, mentoring, outpatient, etc.
