The Director of Programs is responsible for Clayton's operational success, ensuring seamless team management and development, program delivery, and quality control and evaluation. In this role, the Director of Programs provides direction and leadership for all licensed and grant-funded programs across more than 70 locations throughout Tarrant County.
Responsibilities
Programmatic Responsibilities
- Plan the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the agency's mission and goals. Ensure the implementation, management, supervision, and evaluation of all activities are in accordance with Standards and Licensing and/or grant requirements.
- Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve successful program outcomes.
- Ensure program activities comply with contractual responsibilities, grant requirements, and all relevant state regulations.
- Evaluate Centers through on-site visits; visit centers to develop a thorough awareness of operations at each center.
- Analyze trends in the field, identifying issues and developing/recommending solutions to the CEO.
- Work with department senior managers to ensure effective and efficient program delivery.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Interview and hire staff; plan, assign, and direct work; evaluate performance; build successful teams.
- Implement a professional development program to address employee experience and skill gaps.
- Coordinate delivery of services among program activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Participate in developing and administering Clayton policies and procedures.
- Monitor all budgeted program expenditures; ensure that the programs operate within the approved budget.
Community Responsibilities
- Cultivate existing relationships with vendors to ensure sufficient space, resources, and access to services.
- Interpret Clayton services to the community through direct involvement with external groups.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to gain community support for the program, solicit input to improve it, and find new opportunities for the agency to grow services.
Qualifications
This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual with team management experience to grow and further develop a proven program. The successful candidate will lead programs, partner with the CEO, and work collaboratively with a high-performance management team. Specific requirements include:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in education or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
- At least 10 years’ experience with three of those in a team management role.
- Experience working with various types of afterschool programming preferred.
- Demonstrated success in developing and evaluating program models and successfully operationalizing innovative programs.
- Proficient in using technology, particularly as a reporting tool.
- Strong project management skills resulting in measurable successes and program growth.
- Experience working with a high-performance, collaborative, and constructive peer group.
- Strength in developing, coaching, and retaining individuals and teams.
- Understanding employee performance improvement plans and corrective action policies.
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for the mission of Clayton.
