Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for innovation in food presentation and menu development. This role requires overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality food production across various service areas.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
- Contribute to menu planning, ensuring a diverse selection that meets guest expectations and dietary requirements
- Manage food preparation, cooking, and presentation to uphold the highest standards of quality and consistency
- Supervise inventory control, ordering supplies, and managing food costs to optimize kitchen efficiency
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen
- Coordinate with catering and banquet departments for event-specific menus and special requests
- Oversee shift management, scheduling staff to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their culinary skills and knowledge
- Collaborate with restaurant management on operational improvements and customer satisfaction initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience in dining, catering, or banquet settings with strong culinary skills
- Supervising experience in a high-volume kitchen environment
- Extensive culinary experience including food production, food handling, and food safety certifications
- Background in dietary department operations or specialized dietary menu planning is a plus
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with team management and staff development skills
- Knowledge of inventory management, control procedures, and cost optimization strategies
- Experience with restaurant management systems and food service management practices
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with staff and other departments
- Hospitality background with a focus on customer service excellence in the food industry
