Outside Sales Representative

Clayton Services is searching for an Outside Sales Associate to join a thriving Asian food distrbution company in the North Houston area. The Outside Sales Associate will be responsible for managing customer relationships, achieving sales targets, promoting company products, and ensuring excellent customer satisfaction through consistent communication and support.

Job Type: Direct Hire

Pay Rate: $45,000-$55,000/year plus performance incentives

Outside Sales Associate Responsibilities:

• Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales quotas.
• Visit existing and potential customers to provide support, product information, and drive sales.
• Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure timely payment collection.
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through exceptional service and effective issue resolution.
• Work closely with purchasing, warehouse, and related teams to ensure order accuracy, efficiency, and proper distribution.
• Coordinate urgent and time-sensitive deliveries to meet customer needs.
• Travel to customers and various locations as required.
• Educate customers on products and services, highlighting features and benefits.
• Enter and update orders in the company database accurately and promptly.
• Safely operate and maintain the company vehicle in accordance with company policy.
• Participate in weekly sales meetings.
• Attend semiannual inventory counts, including occasional weekend assignments.
• Attend company events and functions outside regular business hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Outside Sales Associate Skills and Abilities:

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic mathematical skills (markups, discounts, inventory counting, weight/measurement conversions).
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build rapport and maintain long-term customer relationships.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• ERP system experience (Microsoft NAV highly preferred).
• Knowledge of Japanese foods and liquors strongly preferred.
• Bilingual English/Chinese highly preferred; Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, or other Asian languages considered.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Positive attitude and adaptability to frequent changes.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Outside Sales Associate Education and Experience:

• High school diploma required; Associate degree or higher strongly preferred.
• Previous experience in the food industry, preferably Japanese food products, highly preferred.
• Prior outside sales or customer-facing experience preferred.
