Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed construction documents for manufactured homes.
- Develop and maintain standardized drawing templates and CAD libraries.
- Ensure all drawings comply with HUD, IRC, and other applicable codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and project management teams to ensure design feasibility and accuracy.
- Review and approve drawings before submission to regulatory agencies or production.
- Train and mentor junior drafters, providing guidance and quality control.
- Manage drawing revisions and document control processes.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to improve product quality and efficiency.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for integration of third-party components into designs.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in AutoCAD drafting, with at least 2 years in manufactured or modular housing.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, especially HUD and IRC.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D); Revit or other BIM software is a plus.
- Experience with structural, electrical, and plumbing layouts.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials used in modular construction.
- Experience with permitting and regulatory submittals.
- Knowledge of Lean principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
Pay Range: $25 to $30 per hour
