What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Mechanic position at Clayton Companies?
The Clayton Company is looking for an experienced class A or B Diesel/Heavy truck mechanic for our Jackson location. Applicant must have a minimum of 2 years experience and have their own tools.
Job description:
- Trouble shoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, brake, suspension, and air systems on heavy diesel trucks and trailers.
- Perform preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers
- Ability to repair or replace engine and exhaust components
Job requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in heavy diesel truck repair and maintenance
- Have complete set of tools to handle all types of repairs
- Ability to read service manuals, technical specifications, electrical diagrams
- Ability to write service reports and part requests
Physical requirements:
Ability to lift 50lbs, pull/push 150lbs
Ability to wear dust mask/respirator
Ability to stand, crouch, kneel, sit, bend, and twist for extended periods of time
