POTTERY STUDIO INSTRUCTOR

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Part-time pottery wheel instructor
—instructor will teach customers (of various skill/experience) how to throw bowl, cup, or vase on a pottery wheel
—instructor responsible for upholding studio care while facilitating ~ 1.5 hour beginner classes
AVAILABILITY:
Part-time, multiple shifts available
(day/evening/Sun plus must be available occasional Fri/Sat)
—must have flexibility to occasionally cover shifts when needed
COMPENSATION:
Commiserate with experience
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Ceramic Skills:
—must have basic wheel throwing skills (wedging clay, centering, creating consistent work)
—teaching experience preferred (but not required)
—must be able to lift 50lb boxes of clay and meet physical demands of a working studio

—strong communicator with inter-personal skills

—awareness of activities/tasks that need to be accomplished for studio efficiency
