Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Box Truck Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering doors and related building materials to customers. This position offers consistent weekday routes with no weekend work. Drivers will also assist with unloading materials at customer locations as requested.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload trucks (by hand or forklift), as needed.
- Ensure loads are correctly placed and secure.
- Maintain required company paperwork.
- Ensure all orders are delivered and completed.
- Ensure all paperwork is properly completed when loading trucks.
- Effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Safely operate medium to light duty truck with an automatic transmission.
- Effectively and safely maneuver truck in and out of jobsites and loading docks.
- Maintain and keep your assigned work vehicle clean.
- Carry out routine vehicle checks.
- Organize and identify finished good material.
- Assist in the warehouse and production areas, as needed.
- Stage material in each department.
- Assist the receiving coordinator check-in material.
- Keep dock area clean and clutter free for a safe work environment.
Required Experience/Skills
- Daily punctuality and a strong worth ethic.
- The ability to follow OSHA and Dealers Wholesale safety standards and regulations.
- DOT medical card, or the ability to get one.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
- The ability to regularly lift heavy materials, often weighing up to 125 pounds.
- The ability to lift, carry, push, climb, balance, kneel, and reach daily.
- A detail oriented, dedicated, positive and professional attitude.
Preferred Experience/Skills
Two years non-CDL truck driving experience and fork-lift certification are strongly preferred.
