EVS AIDE - LAUNDRY Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for providing clean and sanitized linen for the hospital, wellness center, and the nursing home as well as washing, drying and ironing the personal laundry of the nursing home residents.

REPORT TO: Environmental Services Director

1. Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions
2. Must have the ability to perform multiple tasks
3. Must be able to work alone, with minimal supervision, and make responsible decisions
4. This job will require continuous movement to include walking, bending, pushing, pulling and stooping. This position will be required to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
5. On the job training will be provided

MAJOR JOB DUTIES:

1. Will pick up soiled linen from all designed areas in the hospital and nursing home
2. Will sort all linen in the laundry room
3. After sorting the linen, the linen will be washed, dried, folded and placed on either shelves or carts for pick up or delivery
4. Infectious linen will be washed according to our procedure for handling hazardous materials and will then be handled in the same manner as other linen
5. The personal laundry of our nursing home residents will be picked up and then washed and dried in the personal laundry. The laundry aide will hand the clean linen on hangers and will fold the personal items
6. Wrinkled clothing will be ironed
7. Will be responsible for ironing name labels on the resident’s clothing to ensure the clothing is matched to the right resident
8. Will clean the lint filter after each load of clothes
9. Will sweep the work area daily
10. Will perform any other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Mon - Fri
5:30am - 2:00pm or 6:00am - 2:30pm
