Required Qualifications:
- Must have a valid driver's license for at least five years.
- Must have a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Air Brakes, Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) Endorsements
- Must have a safe driving history prior to employment. Safe driving history shall be interpreted as follows: On a record search, no accumulation of points totaling 8 or more in any 12-month period within the three (3) years immediately preceding the record search; and no conviction for DUI within the seven (7) years immediately preceding the record search. A no-contest plea shall be considered the same as a conviction.
- Must maintain a safe driving record while employed.
- Must meet all requirements of Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 6A-3 Transportation.
- Must have a satisfactory check for drug and alcohol violations within the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and/or any Department of Transportation (DOT) sanctioned drug and/ or alcohol tests from previous DOT-regulated employers within the past two years.
- Must pass the annual physical examination as set by the Clay County School Board or the State of Florida.
- Must demonstrate understanding of operational responsibilities as prescribed in Florida Administrative Code, the Florida Commercial Driver Handbook, local laws and Clay County District Schools Policy and Procedures
- Must complete training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid prior to transporting students, and complete CPR and first aid refresher in-service training every other year.
- Must be able to understand and follow written and oral communications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
BACKGROUND SCREENING:
All prospective employees must submit to a Level 2 background check pursuant to Florida State Statute 435.04 and be found eligible by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse. The background check will include, but is not limited to, fingerprinting for statewide criminal history records checks through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, national criminal history records checks through the Federal Bureau of Investigation, local criminal records checks through local law enforcement agencies, and a search of the sexual predator and sexual offender registries of any state in which the prospective employee resided during the immediate preceding 5 years.
