We are seeking a litigation attorney with at least 2 years of relevant experience to join our growing Aiken office. Clawson & Staubes has been a trusted leader in insurance defense since 1975, known for delivering prompt, bold, and innovative legal service throughout the Carolinas.
Position Overview
This position offers immediate hands-on responsibility in a fast-paced litigation practice. The successful candidate will independently manage a caseload, with collaboration and support from experienced colleagues. It’s an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney to grow in a team-oriented environment while building autonomy and courtroom experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of litigation from initial evaluation through resolution or trial
- Draft motions, pleadings, discovery, and appellate briefs in state and federal court
- Conduct legal research and write clearly on complex legal issues
- Represent clients at depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials
- Investigate facts, assess liability and damages, and develop strategy
- Communicate regularly with clients and carriers to provide legal guidance and updates
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in South Carolina (North Carolina license a plus)
- At least 2 years of relevant litigation experience
- Highly responsive and professional in communication with clients, colleagues, and others
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Organized and dependable with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
