We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Front End Cashier with Lottery Experience to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, handling retail sales transactions, lottery ticket sales, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Your enthusiasm and strong communication skills will help drive sales, promote our products, and maintain an organized checkout area.
Responsibilities
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process retail transactions accurately.
- Sell lottery tickets, assist with product demos, and explain game rules to customers.
- Handle cash register operations including cash handling, cash drawer balancing, and retail math calculations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing inquiries professionally.
- Upsell products and promote store specials to increase sales opportunities.
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise displays, and assist with store merchandising efforts.
- Maintain phone etiquette when answering customer calls and providing information about products or services.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating POS systems and handling retail sales transactions.
- Knowledge of lottery ticket sales and familiarity with lottery regulations is highly preferred.
- Supervising experience in a retail or grocery environment is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively.
- Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving a diverse customer base.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, balancing registers, and retail math calculations.
- Experience in grocery store or retail sales environments is beneficial.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
