ABOUT CLATSOP COUNTY                      

Today Clatsop County is one of nine Home Rule counties in Oregon. Five non-partisan elected Commissioners set policy and appoint a full-time County Manager, who is responsible for daily operations. County services are provided through these divisions: County Administration (County Manager), Assessment and Taxation, Budget and Finance, County Clerk, Juvenile, Public Health, Public Works, Community Development, the District Attorney, Sheriff’s Offices, and the Fair & Expo. The county also administers a road district, a rural law enforcement district, and a local sewer district.

the position                                       

The purpose of this position is to provide advanced event/activity coordination, operations support, and administrative assistance for the Clatsop County Fairgrounds Manager and to serve as recording secretary for the Clatsop County Fair Board

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS                  

  • High school diploma or GED, And Minimum of three (3) years specialized training and experience in the clerical and/or administrative field. Or
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable.
  • Must possess and maintain driving privileges in the State of Oregon.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS                     

  • Some college level or specialized courses in business management, accounting or other related field.
  • Previous experience in positions involving significant in-person and telephone customer service with the general public.
  • Experience working in public sector organization.
  • Knowledge of specific computer software utilized by the county.
  • Previous experience involving recordkeeping and bookkeeping as well as taking and transcribing minutes.
  • Prior experience planning moderate to large events.
