Description
We’re looking for a hands-on, customer-focused Design Center Assistant/Receiver to join our team. In this role, you’ll support homeowners during their design appointments while also ensuring our materials are received, organized, and available when needed. This is a unique position that combines customer service with inventory and receiving responsibilities.
Schedule: Monday–Friday with one weeknight shift and every other Saturday rotation.
What You’ll Do
Design Center Support
- Provide exceptional customer service to homeowners during design appointments.
- Answer phones and schedule appointments.
- Assist with stone, edge profile, and sink selections.
- Mark and manage customer holds in the Material Hold Log.
- Communicate daily with Purchasing to help maintain optimal inventory levels.
Receiving & Inventory
- Receive and verify incoming materials with proper documentation.
- Complete daily receiving entries and send digital packing slips to Purchasing.
- Notify/deliver incoming product to end users.
- Maintain accurate raw material and supply inventories.
- Organize and clean inventory areas, ensuring racking and materials are well maintained.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical tagging of inventory.
- Process all outbound shipments.
- Facilitate the Slab Smith photo process as required.
- Support housekeeping, organization, and safety in the Design Center.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- 1–2 years of relevant experience (customer service, receiving, or inventory) preferred.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and fluent in English.
- Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, whole numbers).
- Ability to follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 125 lbs.
Work Environment
- Primarily warehouse setting with occasional outdoor work.
- Steel toe boots and safety glasses required when working in receiving.
