Experienced Remodeler – Multi-Trade Residential Remodeling

Classic Remodeling | Full-Time | Lombard, IL / DuPage County

$32–$39/hour, depending on experience and skill level

Classic Remodeling is looking for an experienced residential remodeler who is comfortable working across multiple areas of remodeling and can take ownership of their work from start to finish.

This is not a basic handyman position. We’re looking for a professional remodeler who has developed strong skills in several areas of residential construction and remodeling. Most of our work is residential, with occasional commercial projects.

You may be an excellent carpenter who also has experience with tile, drywall and some plumbing. You may have strong framing and finish skills with experience in several other areas. We don’t expect one person to be an expert in every trade.

The more experience you have, the better. We’re looking for someone with a strong foundation of professional remodeling experience who can bring useful skills to a variety of projects, work independently and continue developing their abilities.

What you’ll do

· Perform residential remodeling work from demolition through completion

· Work with a variety of materials and construction methods

· Perform tasks involving **carpentry, framing, finish work, tile, drywall and general remodeling **

· Handle minor plumbing and electrical work when appropriate

· Read and understand project plans, layouts and job details

· Look at a job and determine what needs to happen next

· Work independently while also working with and helping direct other crew members

· Identify problems in the field and find practical solutions

· Maintain a clean, organized and professional job site

· Complete work according to schedule without sacrificing craftsmanship

What we’re looking for

· 5 years of professional residential remodeling experience preferred

· Strong skills in several areas of remodeling

· Experience in some combination of carpentry, rough framing, finish carpentry, tile, drywall, plumbing and electrical

· Good problem-solving and decision-making skills

· Ability to understand the overall scope of a project

· Strong attention to detail

· Ability to work independently and take responsibility for your work

· Dependable and professional

· Positive attitude and good communication skills

· Pride in your craftsmanship

· Willingness to learn and expand your skills
