Responsibilities
- Lead the diagnosis, repair, and restoration of classic vehicles with a focus on engine systems, powertrain components, and vehicle electrical systems.
- Supervise and mentor a team of mechanics, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
- Perform comprehensive engine repairs, including diesel engine work, automotive engine system repairs, and powertrain overhauls.
- Utilize automotive diagnostic tools and advanced diagnostics techniques to identify faults accurately across various vehicle systems.
- Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks such as alignment, heavy lifting, manual handling, and auto body repairs with precision.
- Ensure all repairs meet dealership or industry standards while maintaining meticulous records of work performed.
- Collaborate with customers to explain repair processes, provide updates on vehicle status, and deliver exceptional customer service.
Skills
- Extensive experience with a strong background in automotive repair for classic and vintage vehicles.
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics using specialized tools and software for accurate troubleshooting.
- Deep understanding of automotive electrical systems, wiring diagrams, schematics, and electronic control modules (ECMs).
- Skilled in engine repair including diesel engines, powertrain components, and automotive engine technology.
- Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques, manual handling safety procedures, and the use of power tools.
- Ability to interpret automotive wiring diagrams accurately for electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience working with GM vehicles or similar brands is a plus; familiarity with auto body repair is advantageous.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by excellent customer service skills to enhance client satisfaction.
- Capable of performing vehicle alignment procedures and comprehensive vehicle system maintenance tasks efficiently.
