Maintenance Technician / Shift Engineer
Full-Time | In Person
The Ellison Hotel is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician / Shift Engineer to help maintain the comfort, safety, and appearance of our property. This role supports daily hotel operations through preventative maintenance, timely work-order response, and care of both interior and exterior spaces.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance in guestrooms, meeting rooms, and public areas
- Complete minor HVAC preventative maintenance and adjustments
- Respond to and resolve maintenance work orders promptly with guest service in mind
- Set up, maintain, and break down meeting and event spaces
- Maintain exterior areas including pool, parking lot, landscaping, and overall curb appeal
- Safely use and secure tools, equipment, and supplies
- Keep maintenance areas, carts, and storage rooms clean and organized
- Report major repair needs to the Maintenance Manager per hotel procedures
- Follow all hotel safety standards, policies, and procedures
- Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, Chief Engineer, and management team
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience (hotel or commercial preferred)
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors
Schedule
- Evening and weekend shifts required
- Various shifts based on operational needs
