About the role
ClassBento is looking for a strong writer to join our fast-growing team. You will play a big part in creating short-form content for our amazing artisans, makers, food & drink providers to make their workshops shine. As well as writing long-form content in the areas of arts, crafts, and wellbeing. Working with the content team, you will learn the fundamentals of SEO content strategy and editorial best practice.
We are looking for someone passionate about the arts, wellness, and startups. You will have experience with writing, journalism, or blogging and be open to learning new strategies, methods, and tools.
Responsibilities
- Creation of teacher profiles and class listings on the ClassBento CMS
- Writing/editing engaging class listings to optimize for SEO and conversion
- Providing written feedback for teachers on class listing improvements
- Producing templated SEO content around arts, crafts, food & drink
- Researching, writing, and editing long-form articles based on our hundreds of art, craft, and cooking classes
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or equivalent.
- 1yr experience writing for digital channels within an agency or client-side structure
- Ability to write and edit quality written content at speed. You can deliver content to deadlines
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Organized, with excellent attention to detail
- Great problem-solving skills
- Can adapt to change
- You're a team player who is supportive and caring
Nice To Have
- Proficient in prompting and using AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini
- Experience with social media platforms and content creation
- Basic video skills for capturing and creating multimedia content with a smartphone

Job Location: Our US team is based in NYC and Portland, Oregon. For this role, we would strongly prefer a candidate who is based in or close to our largest market, NYC, so that you’re in the right timezone for cross over with our content team.
