Are you an experienced CDL-A driver looking to increase your earning potential while helping develop new drivers? Join our Driver Mentor Program and get paid for all miles the truck runs—including miles driven by your student.
Why Become a Driver Mentor?
As a Mentor, you'll earn your regular mileage pay plus additional mentor compensation while helping new CDL-A drivers gain real-world experience.
Pay & Earnings
Mentors receive their regular CPM pay rate plus an additional $0.20 CPM while training a student.
The additional $0.20 CPM applies to:
- Every mile the mentor drives
- Every mile the student drives
That's right—you earn the additional mentor pay on all truck miles while training, not just your own miles.
Many active mentors report earning between $2,000 and $3,000 per week, depending on factors such as mileage, experience pay tier, student assignments, performance bonuses, and time spent mentoring. Individual earnings will vary.
Mentor Bonuses
- $500 bonus when a student completes 10,000 safe miles
- $300 bonus when a student completes 20,000 safe miles
- Elite Mentor Program after successfully training 6 students
- Earn an additional $0.01 CPM on qualifying student miles during their first solo year
Mentor Schedule
Our mentor program is designed to provide a strong balance between earning potential and home time.
Typical Training Rotation:
- Day 1: Student Observation
- Days 2–11: Student drives a minimum of 5 hours daily
- Mentors may continue utilizing available drive time after student requirements are met
- Typical mentor assignments are approximately 11 days in duration, not multiple weeks at a time
NextGen Mentor Development Program
Qualified drivers attend our professional mentor certification program.
Training Details:
- Location: Springdale, Arkansas
- Hotel Provided
- Complimentary Hot Breakfast
- Monday–Thursday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Lunch Provided Daily
Training Incentives

Minimum Qualifications
- Valid CDL-A License
- Minimum 4 months of verifiable CDL-A experience
- Eligible to participate in the Driver Mentor Program
