What are the responsibilities and job description for the College Planning Advisor position at Class 101 Wake County NC?
College Planning Advisor
- Deliver effective meetings with students to educate and empower them using the Class 101 curriculum
- Encourage, motivate, and keep students on track throughout the college admissions process
- Serve as an instructor for group prep classes and tutor SAT/ACT lessons and workshops
- Gain expertise in Class 101 curricula and our approach to helping students and families
- Identify student goals for college and career and understand family college budget requirements
- Counsel students and families on scholarships and financial aid resources
- Develop college lists and provide regular meeting summaries
- Serve as a reliable source of knowledge for students and families
- Maintain and grow knowledge of colleges popular with students in your area
- Meet deadlines for submitting applications and develop reports on students’ progress on standardized tests
- Guide students through the essay writing process
- Increase client base by communicating program details to prospective clients and referrals
- Follow up on leads, schedule family presentations
- Conduct sales presentations to potential students and families and close deals
- Meet and maintain monthly and quarterly goals
- Lead marketing activities and expand social media presence
- Assist with administrative tasks
- Manage intake of new students, scheduling, and calendar
- Create and deliver content for communication
- Establish and maintain professional relationships
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Passion for working with high school students and their families
- Knowledge of business operations and sales
- Sales and/or customer service experience
- Familiarity with technology and social media
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong phone skills
- Ability to influence and build relationships
- Availability to work evenings and weekends
- Experience tutoring SAT/ACT prep preferred
