ESL Coach/Facilitator Job Description
The Clarksville School District is seeking a highly qualified ESL Coach/Facilitator to support teachers in growing capacity for differentiating instruction, planning, scaffolding, and culturally responsive teaching for students whose first language is not English.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with teachers throughout the district to develop their skills in ESOL instructional strategies, lesson planning, and differentiation.
- Provide professional development and coaching on ESOL strategies, including second language acquisition, ELP standards, and best practices for ELD.
- Support teachers in implementing culturally responsive teaching practices, scaffolding, and differentiation.
- Collaborate with administrators, families, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with federal/state regulations (e.g., Title III, English Language Proficiency Assessments).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, TESOL, Linguistics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). A valid teaching license with an ESOL/ELL endorsement or certification is required.
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in an ESOL or multilingual learning environment. Leadership experience (as a mentor teacher, instructional coach, or department lead) is preferred.
- Bilingual skills and a deep understanding of second language acquisition, ELP standards, and best practices for ELD are essential.
Key Skills and Knowledge:
