What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Volleyball Coach position at Clarksville Community School District?
The Assistant Volleyball Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of the volleyball program. Responsibilities include assisting with practices and games, promoting sportsmanship and teamwork, helping develop student-athletes’ skills, and supporting a positive and competitive program culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices and competitions
- Teach fundamental volleyball skills, strategies, and sportsmanship
- Help supervise student-athletes during practices, games, trips, and team events
- Support player development both individually and as a team
- Assist with equipment setup, inventory, and maintenance
- Promote good communication with players, parents, staff, and administration
- Encourage academic success, character development, and positive citizenship
- Ensure compliance with school, conference, and state athletic association rules and policies
- Assist with game preparation, and statistics as needed
- Help monitor student-athlete eligibility and attendance requirements
- Model professionalism, integrity, and positive behavior at all times
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Activities Director
Qualifications
- Coaching authorization or coaching endorsement as required by the state
- Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals and coaching techniques
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or required by district policy
