Assistant Girls Basketball Coach
The Assistant Girls Basketball Coach assists the Head Coach in developing and maintaining a competitive and educational basketball program that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and character among student-athletes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach with planning, organizing, and conducting practices and games.
- Teach fundamental basketball skills, game strategies, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Help supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and team activities.
- Promote positive relationships with players, parents, staff, officials, and community members.
- Support and enforce school policies, athletic department expectations, and state athletic association rules.
- Assist with game preparation, and film breakdown when applicable.
- Encourage academic success and appropriate behavior among student-athletes.
- Help maintain inventory, equipment, uniforms, and locker room organization.
- Attend coaches meetings, rules meetings, and professional development opportunities as required.
- Assist with offseason programs, youth camps, and player development opportunities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes.
- Model professionalism, integrity, and positive sportsmanship at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous basketball coaching and/or playing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of basketball fundamentals, rules, and skill development.
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and administration.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Valid coaching authorization/licensure as required by the state.
- Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and concussion training as required.
