- Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies
- Assist nurses and medical assistants to ensure quality care and measures are provided to patients
- Operate office equipment, such as voice mail messaging systems, and use word processing, spreadsheet, or other software applications to prepare reports, letters, case histories, or medical records
- Interview patients to complete documents, case histories, or forms, such as intake or insurance forms, PA’s, and denial appeals
- Receive and route messages or documents, such as laboratory results, to appropriate staff or patients
- Explain medications, diets, or providers' instructions to patients
- Compile and record medical charts, reports, or correspondence
- Transmit correspondence or medical records by mail, e-mail, or fax
- Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as scanning, scheduling, placing orders per the providers request, maintaining information files and processing paperwork, such as, sports physicals, health appraisals, FMLA, and disability forms
- Entering, and maintaining information in written or electronic form related to patient care
- Patient and bucket follow-up
- Monthly completion of Eagle training
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of two (2) yeas of medical office/hospital setting experience
- Medical Assistant Certification, preferred
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
