What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Clarkson Construction Company?
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for accurately processing invoices, working with Project Managers and Vendors to resolve concerns. This individual will also provide daily reception relief for the receptionist. Other accounting and administrative duties will be assigned, as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Accurately reviews, codes, and inputs A/P invoices for Clarkson Construction and subsidiary companies
- Reviews all invoices and communicates with field/project management for appropriate documentation
- Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
- 1099 maintenance
- Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies; respond to all vendor inquiries
- Communicate with invoice approvers to ensure timely processing of invoices
- Assist in month-end closing
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
- Assist with other projects as needed
- Oversee proper file and data management
- Provide reception relief and accurately screen and direct callers to appropriate personnel
- Sort and distribute incoming mail
- Provide other administrative assistance, as needed
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- 1 years of related experience or college/work equivalent
- Ability to understand and learn software/tools related to Accounts Payable quickly
