We are seeking an experienced and motivated Community Habilitation Supervisor to oversee program operations, ensure compliance, and support our dedicated team of staff and participants.
Qualifications:
- A current, valid NYS Driver License
- A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant human services field
- At least five (5) years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or similar populations
Position Summary:
The Community Habilitation Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations and growth of the Community Habilitation Program. This includes supervising staff, ensuring quality service delivery, maintaining compliance with all regulations, and fostering a supportive and professional work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight of Community Habilitation staff and services
- Participate in intake, assessment, and enrollment of new participants
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation for all individuals and staff
- Oversee staff evaluations and professional development
- Conduct field visits and monitor service quality and compliance
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations on program improvements and expansion
- Serve as a THERAP resource and ensure data accuracy and reporting compliance
- Work with HR to fill staffing needs and address program vacancies
- Attend community events and fairs to promote program awareness and growth
- Maintain open communication with families, staff, and regulatory bodies
- Maintain and foster a positive, professional team culture
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of OPWDD regulations and documentation systems
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with electronic documentation systems (THERAP preferred)
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to collaborate and expand the program.
