Assistant Varsity Softball Coach Position
We are seeking a qualified Assistant Varsity Softball Coach to join our team at Clarke Community High School.
About the Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the program developed by the Head Varsity Coach, with a focus on developing and growing student athletes both athletically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Instruct athletes in techniques, rules, and safety practices of the sport.
- Develop and organize practice programs that align with the Head Varsity Coach and/or Activities Director's philosophy.
- Conduct practices according to agreed-upon schedules.
- Supervise athletes during bus trips to other schools.
- Promote the entire Clarke Community Schools Athletics program.
- Set an example of high ethical and moral conduct, respecting contest officials and promoting good sportsmanship.
- Foster appreciation of athletic values among participants and spectators.
- Promote healthy lifestyles among student athletes.
- Assist the activities director in maintaining eligible player lists and ensuring completion of required documentation.
- Communicate with parents regarding team rules, schedules, and department guidelines.
- Adhere to all safety laws and district policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Varsity Coach.
Requirements
- Iowa Coaching Authorization (required)
- Previous playing experience (preferred)
- Sport-specific knowledge (preferred)
Terms of Employment
Salary and contract length will be determined in accordance with provisions of the Agreement between CCEA and CCSD.
Evaluation
Annual evaluation by the Activities Director and/or Principal with input from the Head Varsity Coach.
