Clark-Wilkins Elementary School is seeking a long term substitute elementary classroom teacher to join their learning community. This position will begin in March and end in June. This position is responsible for helping to design and implement a rich curriculum, dynamic student-centered instruction, and performance-based assessment at the early elementary level. A qualified applicant will be knowledgeable in the content area standards, and work-study practices, and demonstrate a commitment to bringing learning to life for students of all ability levels. Strong collaboration and communication skills as well as a commitment to their growth are required in this position.
Qualifications
- Successful experience and/or training in the field or level within the last five years.
- Demonstrated commitment to, “Engage, Support and Challenge All Learners.”
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues to support a positive school climate
- Experience with standards-based grading and competency education
- Proficiency in creating and implementing performance-based assessments in the classroom
- Demonstrated strategies for differentiation at all levels to support a Multi-Tiered System of Supports model
- Demonstrated instructional skills at the elementary level, particularly in the area of research-based best practices in literacy.
- Ability to incorporate brain-based and social-emotional learning strategies into instruction
- Enthusiastic, articulate, creative, people-oriented, and caring.
- Expert in working with elementary school-aged students and their families.
Certifications: Elementary Education Teacher (1810 or 1811)
