Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Over the Road Truck Driver that is home weekends to join our team. This role requires a commitment to safety, efficiency, and professionalism while transporting goods. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and the ability to navigate various routes while adhering to all regulations. MUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE IF NOT ALONG FREIGHT ROUTES!
Duties
- Operate and drive a tractor-trailer over long distances to deliver freight.
- Ensure timely delivery of loads.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and functionality.
- Load and unload cargo as necessary, ensuring proper handling of materials.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and cargo documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes, delays, or issues encountered during transport.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while on the road.
Skills
- Proven verifiable experience in truck driving with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Proficiency in operating flatbed and stepdecks with tarps.
- Familiarity with route driving and logistics planning for efficient travel.
- Ability to load and unload freight safely using forklifts or other equipment as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address any issues that may arise during transport.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
