We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Garage Door Installer to join our dynamic construction and home improvement team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of garage doors and related hardware, ensuring safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. Duties
- Install new garage doors, including framing, door hanging, and fixture installation using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform mechanical repairs and troubleshooting on existing garage doors and openers, ensuring smooth operation.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and fabrication plans to execute precise installations.
- Conduct glass installation for windows or panels as needed, ensuring proper sealing with caulking and trim carpentry techniques.
- Handle electrical work related to garage door openers, sensors, wiring, and circuit connections in compliance with electrical codes.
- Utilize welding skills for metal framing or reinforcement tasks when required on heavy-duty or custom projects.
- Ensure all work adheres to building code compliance standards and safety regulations on construction sites.
- Assist with remodeling projects involving metal stud framing, cabinetry, or fixture installation as part of comprehensive home upgrades.
- Use schematics and technical drawings to interpret project requirements accurately before installation or repair work.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, disposing of debris properly, and following safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction, carpentry, or related fields with a focus on door installation or remodeling projects.
- Strong mechanical knowledge including door hanging, fabrication, metal stud framing, and mechanical repair skills.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as drills, screwdrivers, wrenches; power tools including saws and grinders; welding equipment; and electrical testing devices.
- Knowledge of building code requirements related to garage doors and electrical systems for safety compliance.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret schematics accurately.
- Experience with glass installation, caulking techniques, locksmithing basics or lock installation is a plus.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working on construction sites or at heights.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients about project timelines and specifications.
- Handyman experience or general remodeling background is highly desirable for versatile project support.
