Position Summary
The Production Manager oversees all daily manufacturing operations to ensure production runs efficiently, safely, and in accordance with company quality standards and delivery goals. This role is responsible for managing production staff, optimizing workflows, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and direct production operations to meet customer demand, quality standards, and cost objectives.
- Supervise, train, and develop production team members; foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
- Monitor daily production schedules and coordinate with maintenance, quality, and supply chain to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and all applicable federal/state regulations (OSHA, FDA, etc. as applicable).
- Analyze production data and metrics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen to improve operational performance.
- Maintain accurate records of production volumes, downtime, waste, and other KPIs.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to implement process improvements and corrective actions.
- Assist in budget preparation, cost control, and capital equipment planning.
- Ensure proper staffing levels, shift coverage, and training for all production roles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing leadership role.
- Proven ability to manage large teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of Lean principles, quality systems, and process optimization.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
Salary : $62,500 - $74,000
