Journeyman Utility Mechanic-Swing
This full-time position reports to a Fleet Services Manager and is located at the Operations Center, 8600 NE 117th Avenue, Vancouver, WA 98662. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00pm to 11:00pm.
WHAT YOU WOULD DO:
Repair and maintain utility equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Journeyman Mechanic experienced in working on heavy equipment. Complete knowledge of construction and repair of hydraulic systems. Familiarity with electric systems on lift equipment. Must be familiar with electronic engine analyzer, and be able to check and repair all automotive electrical systems (must have successfully passed the test given for certification of use of engine analyzer or equivalent training, and be able to prove competency in this area). Prefer minimum of five years’ experience with satisfactory references. Ability to read, legibly write, and converse in the English language. Must have a current driver’s license. Must have and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License or successfully obtain one within six months after selection.
This position is designated as safety-sensitive due to the nature of the work and its potential impact on the safety of employees, the public, and organizational operations. In accordance with our drug-free workplace policy, compliance with applicable testing and safety requirements is a condition of employment.

Employees will also receive eight hours of vacation leave and sick leave every month and twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
SALARY:
Employees are compensated within the established salary range. As skills, experience, and sustained performance grow, pay may progress within the range over time, with the midpoint serving as a general reference point for employees who demonstrate full proficiency in the role.
Journeyman Utility Mechanic: $56.86/Hour*
*All crew members shall be paid a shift premium of 5% over and above their classification rates as agreed to in the collective bargaining agreement.
