About the Role
Clark Professional Cleaning, a veteran-owned commercial cleaning company, is hiring an experienced Training Supervisor to help employees succeed and deliver consistent cleaning excellence.
This position combines hands-on instruction, quality inspections, employee coaching, administrative responsibilities, and ongoing support. You will help new employees become confident and capable, reinforce company standards, strengthen morale and teamwork, and help minimize preventable turnover.
Our culture centers on Clear Communication, Consistency, Credibility, and Superior Cleaning. We are looking for someone who models these expectations through respectful leadership, accountability, and dependable follow-through.
Success in this role requires more than strong cleaning skills. You must be comfortable managing documentation, organizing priorities, completing administrative tasks, and following through on commitments. You will be expected to take ownership of the role and make it your own within CPC’s established standards and framework.
This is a dedicated training role. Routine vacancy coverage is not its primary responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Training and Assessment

  • Provide hands-on training in cleaning procedures, chemical use and dilution, equipment operation, safety, and professional conduct.
  • Explain expectations, demonstrate tasks, observe employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and verify understanding through practice.
  • Train employees to use facility route cards, scopes of work, checklists, and prescribed cleaning times.
  • Teach proper use of Swept for timekeeping, checklists, communication, photos, and issue reporting.
  • Assess new employees’ skills, quality, pace, safety, reliability, attitude, coachability, and readiness for independent work.
  • Communicate observations and make recommendations to the Operations Leading Supervisor regarding advancement, additional training, support needs, and suitability for assigned work.
  • Coordinate facility-specific training with Area or Site Supervisors and jointly verify readiness before employees begin independent work.

Administrative Ownership and Follow-Through

  • Complete timely, accurate training reports and maintain competency checklists, employee assessments, retraining records, and training materials.
  • Track outstanding coaching items, required follow-ups, and employee progress through completion.
  • Plan training activities, organize priorities, and communicate updates and concerns proactively.
  • Once acclimated, manage substantial day-to-day autonomy, make effective use of time, and complete responsibilities without constant oversight.
  • Improve how the role is carried out while remaining within company procedures, standards, and assigned authority.

Culture, Morale, and Employee Support

  • Welcome new employees and help them feel prepared, supported, and connected to the team.
  • Build positive working relationships, encourage cooperation, recognize progress, and model CPC’s culture.
  • Lead with patience, kindness, understanding, and a positive disposition while maintaining clear expectations and accountability.
  • Continue supporting employees after initial training through check-ins, coaching, and retraining.
  • Identify concerns involving confidence, workload, communication, or team relationships early and coordinate solutions with the Operations Leading Supervisor.
  • Help reduce preventable turnover through consistent support and successful transitions to independent work.

Cleaning Excellence and Facility Standards

  • Inspect work and reinforce complete, consistent cleaning without sacrificing safety or quality for speed.
  • Demonstrate and monitor vacuuming, dusting, mopping, trash removal, liner replacement, surface sanitizing, furniture and fixture cleaning, glass spot cleaning, vertical-surface wiping, chrome and stainless-steel polishing, and restroom cleaning and restocking.
  • Follow cleaning requirements, schedules, and timeframes; respond promptly to work orders.
  • Open and close facilities securely, monitor cleaning supplies and inventory, and report pertinent information to the Operations Leading Supervisor.
  • Provide excellent customer service and represent CPC professionally when interacting with clients and facility personnel.
  • Follow applicable OSHA standards and company safety, security, uniform, timekeeping, and attendance policies.
  • Know Safety Data Sheet locations and ensure employees use required personal protective equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • At least one year of management or supervisory experience.
  • At least one year of janitorial or commercial cleaning experience.
  • Strong initiative and the ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and follow through without repeated reminders.
  • Ability to train and assess employees, communicate expectations clearly, and provide respectful, constructive feedback.
  • Ability to complete administrative work and maintain organized, accurate records.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, and a positive disposition.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to cleaning quality.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle for travel between assigned locations.
  • Availability to work until midnight when needed.
  • Ability to safely perform essential duties, including operating cleaning equipment, remaining on your feet throughout the shift, frequent walking, bending and stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Employee training experience is preferred.

Schedule and Work Environment
Work is primarily indoors at commercial office, medical, dental, and educational facilities across multiple cities in Hampton Roads.
The regular schedule is part-time, Monday–Friday, primarily 6:00 PM–11:00 PM. Working until midnight may occasionally be necessary. These later evenings are expected to be minimal, but the flexibility is required. Hours may vary with training and operational needs, including occasional weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Travel between assigned facilities is required. Mileage is paid, with the reimbursement rate to be negotiated.

Preemployment Screening
Employment requires passing a drug test, background check, and driving record check.
Candidates without a criminal record are preferred because of the facilities this role may serve. Applicants will be evaluated on merit and individual circumstances, including their ability to meet applicable client and facility assignment requirements.

You understand that strong teams grow through clear expectations, encouragement, accountability, and ongoing support—and you are committed to helping employees succeed.
