Position: Advanced Programmer

Location: Galveston, TX

Pay: $80k to $125k/year

Experience:

• Must have previous experience in a machine shop or shipyard with operating CNC machinery.
• Proven experience programming multi-axis CNC machines and proficiency with CAM software (Mastercam strongly preferred).
  
  

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field (or equivalent experience).

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Clark Personnel is seeking an Advanced Programmer to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

• Program and operate multi-axis CNC machines (5-axis) for complex parts and tooling.
• Utilize CAM software, primarily Mastercam, to refine toolpaths and optimize machining efficiency.
• Translate blueprints, CAD files, or reverse-engineered parts into accurate CNC programs.
• Perform gear machining programming for spur, helical, worm, bevel, and spline gears.
• Apply solid understanding of tooling selection, toolpath management, feeds, and speeds.
• Reverse engineer parts from scans, prints, or samples into machine-ready code.
• Program and operate horizontal boring mills, CNC lathes, and milling machines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve CNC programming or setup issues.
• Ensure precision and accuracy in all machined components.
• Collaborate with the production team to meet quality and timeline goals.
  
  

Position Requirements:

• Multi-axis CAM programming (5-axis).
• Proficiency in Mastercam or equivalent CAM software.
• Gear machining programming expertise.
• CAD literacy and blueprint interpretation.
• Toolpath optimization and cutting tool selection.
• Knowledge of G-code and CNC setup/troubleshooting.
• Reverse engineering skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Problem-solving and adaptability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
