Deli Associate

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality food items in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in ensuring that our deli section operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of deli items, including meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches, adhering to food safety standards.
• Operate Aloha POS or Micros POS systems for processing customer transactions accurately.
• Engage with customers to provide excellent service, answer questions, and assist with product selection.
• Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance sales opportunities.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area in compliance with health regulations.
• Handle cash transactions and ensure accurate cash handling procedures are followed.
• Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or discrepancies.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operation of the deli department.
• Perform basic math calculations for pricing and inventory tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food preparation or food service is preferred, particularly in quick service or fast food restaurant settings.
• Familiarity with Aloha POS or Micros POS systems is a plus.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
• Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications.
• Experience in the culinary field or kitchen environment is advantageous.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 35 per week
