What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receiving Coordinator position at CLARK Material Handling Company?
Position Objective/Summary:
The Receiving Coordinator position will work in the receiving department in the production facility, to ensure the correct quantities are received and that they match the invoices. This position is crossed-trained as a Material Handler so that they're able to perform the functions of that position when needed. This is an onsite first shift, Monday through Friday 6:am – 3:30pm shift.
Nature and Scope:
This position requires excellent data entry skills, oral communication and attention to detail to be effective to ensure all receiving functions are done correctly. The major function of the position is accurate efficient data entry of information into databases. This position is responsible to exhibit “all sense of urgency” for receiving all incoming shipments.
Essential Functions
- Receives shipments against receiving documents by verifying accuracy of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts or other records.
- Unload LTL, FTL shipments & Containers, process receiving of all UPS and FedEx deliveries
- Load outbound shipments for warranty, engineering, and other departments as required
- Enter transfers into the computer systems as material handlers move inventory
- Checks for damaged goods and documents & notifies the appropriate people.
- Check incoming parts for damage, quantity, correct item, etc.
- Receive into computer system per receiving policies and procedures
- Deliver or put away received parts to correct locations in timely manner
- May spend up to 50% of your time performing data entry, scanning, and clerical related tasks associated with receiving functions.
- Ensures that parts are appropriately identified for storage within the facility.
- Advise Staff of “Poor Supplier Performance” issues.
- Prioritize daily workload, special projects to provide excellent internal and external Customer Service.
- Will assist in the picking and kitting support for production lines when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic Computer skills, especially Microsoft Office products
- Ability to generate and analyze various reports
- Ability to operate a standup order picker forklift
- Understanding of inventory procedures, take initiative to make improvements within the department
- Attention to detail is a must.
- Efficient & accurate data entry skills (preferably 10 key pad skills)
- Ability to effectively problem solve, resolve errors, and troubleshoot and coordinate corrective actions
- Knowledge of basic safety procedures
- Self-motivated with a high degree of confidence and energy level.
- Strong interpersonal abilities and excellence within communication skills (both written & verbal) with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, peers and suppliers.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times each day, be able to bend, twist, lift & retrieve items above your head, and be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be available to work overtime
Physical/Environmental Conditions:
This position is located in a fast paced manufacturing environment, with typical warehouse temperatures and forklift traffic. Must be able to pick up boxes up to 50 pounds.
