Clark Legal Recruiting is partnering with a boutique metro Detroit area law firm that is looking to add a Labor and Employment Attorney to its busy staff.
About the Role
Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and reviewing legal documents, conducting legal research, and preparing memoranda, pleadings, and correspondence. The role involves providing legal advice under the supervision of senior attorneys, participating in negotiations, attending meetings and hearings, and assisting with case strategy and client communication. The Associate Attorney will collaborate with colleagues to manage case files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The position also includes opportunities for professional development, participation in firm initiatives, and contributing to client outreach and education.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of prior law firm experience with a strong foundational knowledge of the law.
- Ability to analyze statutes, regulations, and case law.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in Labor and Employment Law, including workplace policies and labor relations.
- Ability to provide clear, practical legal advice to clients under supervision, with sound judgment and ethical awareness.
- Proficient research skills, including legal research tools and the synthesis of complex information into concise written work.
- Effective negotiation skills, with the capacity to represent client interests in discussions, meetings, and settlement efforts.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to practice (or eligibility for admission) in Michigan.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a legal team, manage multiple matters, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional ethics, client service, and continuous learning in the legal field.
Salary DOE plus a descretionary bonus depending on performance as well as health care benefits provided.
